Short-Term Medical is designed to cover Short-term insurance plans provide coverage during life transitions. Perhaps you are recently unemployed or missed the Individual marketplace open enrollment period. Maybe you have aged off of your parent’s insurance plan or you are waiting for employer benefits to kick in. Short-Term insurance helps pay for covered medical expenses due to an unexpected illness or injury during the coverage period. STM doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions and may provide limited preventive care. STM is not a qualified plan to waive tax penalties (currently at $0). Pivot Health STM policies can be purchased from as little as 30 days up to 364 Days depending on coverage needs.

This coverage is not required to comply with certain federal market requirements for health insurance, principally those contained in the Affordable Care Act. Be sure to check your Certificate carefully to make sure you are aware of any exclusions or limitations regarding coverage of preexisting conditions or health benefits (such as hospitalization, emergency services, maternity care, preventive care, prescription drugs, and mental health and substance use disorder services). Your Certificate might also have lifetime and/or annual dollar limits on health benefits. If this coverage expires or you lose eligibility for this coverage, you might have to wait until an open enrollment period to get other health insurance coverage. This plan has a pre-existing limitation provision that may prevent coverage from applying to medical conditions that existed prior to this plan effective date.
